Don’t these guys ever take a break? Now you can search through events that other people have made public on their calendars. Simply put, if I want to find out if there’s anything happening in town over the weekend, chances are I’ll find it one someone’s calendar.
Here’s Google’s explanation.
I can’t think of anything more dangerous for people who haven’t made their calendars private enough. I run a Christian site for events, etc., in Connecticut and a quick search of calendars brought up all kinds of personal things. Google had better up the level of disclaimers and warnings before the lawsuits begin!
I agree with that. Friend of mine Anwin recently sent Gtalk invites to everyone in his address book ’cause the warning wasn’t clear enough.
yalla!!!!! enuf of google …….write….
It’s just laziness dude – much easier posting links!
Good step by Google but this is alarm bells for my site http://www.mapmyevent.com 🙂
Anyways it is solely based on Google maps api so it is a matter of time before Google starts doing the same.
Google removed the ability to search for public calendars. http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=139970
